Justin called Crendon Conservatories to discuss his wish to give his cottage a more contemporary feel with new windows and doors. After visiting the property to assess the layout and location, we ran through various options with Justin and decided on contemporary black aluminium frames, with minimalist lines and large open glass panes.
Our experience told us that this style would keep the original feel of this period property whilst giving it a more modern aspect, and Justin would also benefit from increased light streaming into the property through the large glass panes.
For the installation days on this project, we put two teams on site to minimise disruption for the customer. Within two days we had removed all the existing windows and the new modern aluminium windows and doors were installed. With the house secure and weatherproof, this left only internal works, plastering and making good, which was achieved comfortably on the third day.
Completion & Follow-Up
After transforming this cottage to suit the appearance wished for, the client was extremely happy with the outcome. With a more modern design and using the latest technology, the property now has great sound-proofing and additional insulation, making it warmer and reducing heating costs.
The additional light being let into the rooms has transformed the interior, and the double doors we fitted have provided a secure and attractive means of opening the house out into the garden.
